This is one of the ways you could describe the team photos that have been present on our website since 2008. Four years ago the brief we gave to Morgan Photography, the wonderful people behind our photos then and now, was to simply have some photos of ourselves to go on this website. We had no clue about what would work and what we wanted.
Fast forward 4 years and this time round we set Morgan and Diane a bigger challenge; we finally figured out what we wanted. The results are the photos you can see on our new Who we are page.
The quality of the photos we had taken in 2008 is unquestioned, but those of us who have been at Bronco since 2008 have clearly changed in that time and we no longer look like the people in those photos. Over time we’ve also been waiting for the opportunity to try again and create something a little more ‘Bronco’. We set 4 goals:
The photos from 2008 were what you could call ultra close-up. When it came time to use the photos on a new design or for another purpose they were somewhat restrictive and limited what we could create with them.
So to be more usable we asked for the photos to be a little wider, taking in more of the person and allow us greater control over how to crop the images.
As well as wider close-up shots we also wanted a secondary shot of each person at a much wider angle, which can be seen on the main Who we are page. This would give us a little extra to work with, in creating more interesting designs with the photos.
The 2008 photos are a little too uniform; photos of us smiling at the camera with the background in soft focus and all of us wearing the same colour tops.
As we fall under a banner of a creative agency it’s seen as more acceptable to not conform so much to the business norms of old and to have a little more character and personality. Our photos should reflect this, so gone are the smiley happy people and in come a group of individuals, all experts in their field working cohesively as a team for the success of our clients.
We work in such beautiful surroundings and it’s one of the first comments we get from visitors. So with this in mind why not make our photos as much about Ripon as they are about us. So with a lot of walking we had our photos taken in scenic shots around Ripon to show a little more of our colourful city.
We’re really happy with the resulting photos and have to say big thanks to Morgan Photography for taking our more complicated suggestions and turning them into something amazing.
And just so you can compare here is a bit of the old team page:
Like what you’ve read, then why not tell others about it... they might enjoy it too
