Storm in a Teacup Continues to Grow

In September 2006 Ripon welcomed a special sort of gift shop that stocks a wide range of womens accessories with a nostalgic feel.

Storm in a Teacup is located just off the historic street of Kirkgate in Ripon. The owner of the shop, Emma Warner Reed approached Bronco originally to produce for her a website that reflected the items that she stocked. As a start up business it was also important for the website to expand over time with phased developments.

The Storm in a Teacup website went live in October 2006 and it focused on the elegant Bella Umbrella, of which Emma is the sole UK distributor. The site had information pages and images that enabled the site visitors to get a good overview of her products such as gloves, fans, jewellery, boleros and fascinators.

Emma has done many successful gift shows and fayres across the country and it was important to be able to categorise her products and allow for a facility to order online. Since the websites that Bronco produce are not constrained in any way we can build sites in various phases. The second phase to be implemented was a backend system for Emma, which allowed her to manage her products. This resulted in the new Storm in a Teacup shop where people can see an overview of each product range, and then look at each individual product and order online.

As Emma stocks many colour variations of the same product we created for her a simple system to enable her to upload her products with all the colour variations, for instance in the Gloves section. We continue to work with Emma to enhance sections of the website and there are plans in place in the near future for payment to be taken online which will take the site to the next level.

If you are interested in Bronco working with you on your website development project then do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
