Visit Ripon Website relaunched
Ripon in North Yorkshire has launched a new official website which has many features, with the aim to attract more visitors to the area as well as to provide up to date information to residents.
The new official Ripon website,Visit Ripon has been designed and developed by Bronco Internet who also bring you Ripon Internet, the Ripon Community website. Since we are based in Ripon, we are strong supporters of Ripon and the local area. We were really pleased to be a local company and to be involved with this project with the Ripon City Partnership.
The overall look and feel of the site had to match up with the current Visit Ripon 2007 tourist brochure, but also had to be user friendly to many different types of web user. The images on the site are an important factor in trying to portray to a potential visitor what the city has to offer at a glance.
The Visit Ripon website brings a great deal of information to people who live in Ripon and also visitors to the area. The site does not focus entirely on just Ripon, as the locality surrounding Ripon has a great deal to offer too.
There are detailed sections on the history of Ripon and what is going on in the area, also a latest news, events and weather section to keep you up to date. Along with the visitor information which helps people get to Ripon, and get around the area, there are also listings of Where to Stay, Where to Eat / Drink and what local attractions there are. The structure of the site is based around a complex Content Management System.
The website has been built so that the Ripon City Partnership has full admin access to the pages, photo gallery, news and events sections and the directory listings on the site. This allows the site to continue to grow and not to remain static. With Visit Ripon, businesses can also advertise on the website as either a premium listing in the directory or to have a specific advert on a specific page relating to their services. This again is all managed through the backend of the site so that fresh adverts can be uploaded.
